Ben was not usually a morning person, but about two weeks after Ruby had officially moved in he'd woken up extremely early and dismissed the cook after explaining that he would be cooking breakfast. At first she argued, at least insisting to stay in case he needed help but once she watched him for a little bit she realized he really didn't need it.

After about an hour she left, though she did at least help him by showing him how to get the complicated coffee maker started. He smiled a bit as he worked on breakfast, humming softly to himself as he took the different dishes of food out to the dining room table. He could hear a bit of stirring so he knew his mother and father were waking up and getting ready. They would be surprised to say the least knowing he had made breakfast for them.

Once he was done with that he went back to the kitchen, pulling from fruit from the fridge as well to make a fruit salad. He finished that, putting it in the middle of the table.

It wasn't uncommon for Ruby to spend the night at Leia's place, but since Ben had come home, she'd spent so much time there that it hadn't taken long for them to make her living there official. The only thing that had been different was them moving into Ruby's room -larger and more modern in it's decoration.

The fact that Ben wasn't in the bed when she woke up was bizarre, even if he had been getting up earlier over the last couple of weeks. Brushing her teeth and pulling one of Ben's shirts over her head, Ruby headed down to the kitchen, brow raising when she saw him moving around the kitchen.

"Ben?"

He looked up when he heard his name, smiling softly before walking over to her and pulling her into a quick kiss. "Morning." He made her coffee, setting the mug down in front of her and pecking her temple before motioning to a stool at the island.

"Mom and Han will be down in the next 20 minutes or so if you wanna wait in here with me. I've just got to finish up the biscuits and fruit salad before I'm all done." He held her close, stroking his hand up and down her arms for a moment.

He was already thinking about the day with her, smiling before suddenly turning and leaning against the counter. "Hey, what would you think about going out for a picnic today?"

"You're... making breakfast?" Her face breaks out into a huge grin as she watches him from her place at the island, hands wrapped around her mug of hot coffee, made just how she likes it. "It suits you. I should make a house husband outta you." It's obviously a tease but there's definite truth about it suiting him.

"I could go for a picnic. There's nothing else on my schedule, so I am all yours."

"Yeah I took cooking classes to round out my credits. I needed some extras and...well it seemed like it might be interesting. Ended up really enjoying it and taking as many courses as I could." He said, moving to go check on the biscuits before going back over to her. He leaned against the island, wrapping his arms around her and pressing his lips again her shoulder.

"So picnic it is. We can take a laptop along and watch some movies or something." He was thinking about it, humming some more before looking towards the window looking out to the backyard. "Got Han to help me with a project swing out by our old treehouse. Took an old trampoline and made a swinging bed out of it. Real soft and nice...just for us."

"You continue to surprise me everyday, Ben Organa." Ruby leans into the touch and sips at her coffee. Spinning around on her seat, Ruby leaves her coffee behind her on the bench and leans into Ben's broad chest, wrapping her arms around him. "You're so amazing."

Puckering up her lips for a kiss, Ruby looks up at him and presses her lip against his. "Oh, Ben. You spoil me. Bring wine and it'll be perfect."

He leaned into the kiss readily, enjoying it and slowly settling his hands on her hips before giving them a squeeze. "Best girl in the world. You deserve to be spoiled." He said, pecking her lips before pulling away to check the biscuits again before checking his phone when a notification dinged. He picked his phone up, looking at something for a long moment.

"There's an lgbtq+ pride thing going on next week...and I just got tagged on Twitter asking if we would like to come. And if I'd like to speak." He said, slowly raising an eyebrow before looking at her and smiling. "Think maybe mom would like to go too?"

After another kiss, Ruby turns back around and watches him move around the kitchen again while finishing off her coffee and getting up to get more. She could drink this coffee all day; she had no idea where Ben got the beans from, but they were delicious.

"She probably would, yeah. What brought that on? That's kinda... random?"

He thought about it, pulling the biscuits out just as he heard his mother and Han coming down the stairs. "Well I..." He shrugged, looking a bit sheepish. "Might have written a few posts...on my Twitter and Tumblr. And Reddit. And maybe Facebook too." Okay so he'd done a lot. He bit his lip. "I joined a few groups I saw you were interested in and...well there were some trolls here and there and...I just...went off." He looked down, shrugging.

"This one guy was saying some really messed up stuff to these girls in this one group that was about...you know, trans support and couples and helping...work through all that and he was just being a dick in general. So like I said, I went off. People noticed and it...umm might be going viral now." Which he hoped wouldn't end up with his mother throwing a fit about.

Ruby watches Ben from where she leans against the counter next to the coffee machine, her eyebrow raising and lips quirking into a smirk the more he talks.

Ben, her Ben, had gotten into an internet row with transphobes and it was going viral. And now they wanted him to talk at an lgbtq+ pride rally. God, she loved him so much.

"Once again, you continue to amaze me."

"Well, what would you expect me to do? I mean, I was already supportive before, but now I'm with you and...I'm not gonna let assholes like that get away with this shit if I can help it." He said, shaking his head. "They shouldn't be able to get away with it regardless." He frowned, tightening his arms around her.

He nudged her gently then, letting her go and picking up the biscuits to carry them out to the dining room now that his mother and Han had made their way in there. "Good morning." He said, smiling as he motioned for them to sit. "I made breakfast." Immediately Han started staring at the different warmers as if he were expecting the food to try to kill him. "You made breakfast?"

Putting her cup back down, Ruby steps forward and wraps both arms around Ben's middle, pressing her face into his chest and sighing softly. Honestly, he's amazing, so amazing and she wonders for a moment how she got so lucky as to find him in her life once more.

"You're amazing, Ben."

And then Leia and Han step into the room and Ruby steps up onto her toes to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth and then grabs her mug once more, moving to sit at the table. "Great! I'm starving!"

"I can actually cook, Han." He said, raising an eyebrow before pulling Ruby's chair out so she could sit. He took the seat beside her, moving to fill his plate and help Ruby fill hers as well.

He smiled over at her, leaning closer so he could kiss her cheek and whisper in her ear. "After breakfast go put on your bikini and some comfortable clothes over. We're gonna spend the day at the beach."

Then he looked at his mother who was busy filling her own plate. He waited until she took a bite, looking surprised. "Ben, this is delicious!"

Ruby dishes up a bit of everything and smiles at Ben's words. A day at the beach with her man sounds like the perfect way to spend her time. And maybe she can even convince him to work on a tan; he looks exactly like the artist he is, pale, like he never sees the sun.

And if he gets a few more beautiful freckles out of the exposure, well that's just more places to put kisses.

"He's an amazing cook. At least one of us it. But I make the best PB and J toast."

"Oh yes you do." He said, chuckling before leaning over and pulling her hand up so he could kiss her knuckles.

"I'll be the cook though. You have other talents." He teased, giving his father a look when he groaned. "I don't mean like that, Han!" He said, rolling his eyes before turning his attention back to their food.

Ruby smiles at him again and shovels more eggs into her face.

She winks at Han. "That's absolutely what he means, Han." She hopes it's enough to make them both flush with embarrassment because she's a shit and she can. Leia gives her a smirk, as if she knows.

Ben did flush, the color reaching all the way to the tips of his ears just like it did his father. He turned his head slightly to give her a look, reaching over and pinching her side.

"You behave." He said playfully, trying to avoid the look he knew he was getting from his mother.

"Well, you two will have a productive day, I'm sure. I have meetings to go to."

Ruby flinches away from him and laughs, throwing a piece of toast at him. It's so easy to be with Ben and her smiles softens.

"Never!" She glances over at Han to see that he is, indeed, flushed with embarrassment too. "Goodbye Leia! Have a good day!"

He grabbed the toast and tossed it back onto her plate. He laughed before grabbing her chair and pulling her close. "Wicked thing." He said before kissing her quickly.

Then he turned and took her hand, pulling her away from the table. He smiled and pressed their lips together. "I love you."

Han is rolling his eyes at them and doing his best to focus on his breakfast while Ruby and Ben flirt and tease. She squeals when he drags her chair close but leans into the kiss immediately.

"I love you too, Ben."
